A guide to communicating globally
Welcome to the Crop Protection Resource Hub
Farmers are the backbone of our communities. The decisions they make are grounded in a desire to keep their families, farms, communities and the world safe and fed. Crop protection tools are an essential part of these efforts on their farms. We must help people better understand and build trust with scientific experts, researchers and dedicated farmers to ensure greater access for all farmers to a full set of crop protection tools.
This Resource Hub will help guide your conversations as you communicate with industry peers, first-line customers, regulators and others globally about the tools, techniques, safety and overall benefits of crop protection.
Each section of the hub provides links to additional resources to dive deeper into a variety of topics. These links will connect you to both external websites and to downloadable files, including usable PDF fact sheets and editable design files for use in both print and digital formats. In many cases, small edits can be made directly into the PDFs provided, but heavier changes will need to be made by a creative professional within the design files – these are labeled as “AI” throughout the Resource Hub.
What is Crop Protection?
Crop protection refers to a holistic set of tools and techniques that are an essential part of maintaining a global food supply and helping farmers protect their crops from pests, weeds and diseases. Access to all the tools in the toolbox is necessary to help everyone along the food supply chain bring more food and feed to market with fewer resources in safe and sustainable ways.
Globally, there are many challenges that impact farming – from changing climates to adapting pests to the growing demand for food. There are many opportunities as well for farmers to incorporate innovative techniques on their farms and to work closely with others along the global food supply chain.

The Impact of Your Voice
As a trusted voice within the global agricultural industry, you can build understanding around the safe and sustainable practices farmers are using to protect their crops. Farmers are ecologists by nature, learning from hands-on experience, using science to improve sustainable practices, and making daily decisions to ensure the long-term use of their land. Farmers’ experiences, practices and decisions are all part of the crop protection story, and it is an important one to tell.
The Crop Protection Resource Hub is designed to help you have informed conversations about the crop protection story with first-line customers, policymakers and government leaders. We encourage you to share the materials within the hub and use the information to inform others about the role of crop protection in farming. By sharing this story, you can be instrumental in supporting the U.S. agricultural industry to:
Encourage the export of crops that use a diverse range of crop protection tools
Stimulate harmonious standards globally for pesticide use, avoiding burdensome regulations
Build an environment of transparency and information sharing among countries around the use of all crop protection tools
Crop Protection Presentation
As you communicate in person or virtually with global audiences, you can use the accompanying downloadable presentation. This slide deck pulls together information from throughout the Resource Hub to help you communicate the importance of crop protection, relying on your personal stories and deep understanding of today’s farming challenges.
Crop Protection Overview
Thanks to innovations in crop protection, farming systems today are more environmentally, economically and socially sustainable. There are many tools available to help farmers increase yields, reduce food loss and ensure global access to a reliable food supply.
